Ad Free Is Not So Free

ad-free-banner2I was mortified today when I noticed someone had clicked through this link from my site: http://en.wordpress.com/about-these-ads/.  As a relatively new WordPress user, I was totally unaware that free WordPress sites would “occasionally” contain ads to help cover the costs of hosting the blog.  Being the naive and well-intentioned person that I am, I assumed there are still a few good things that come for free…um, I guess not so much.

If you have been on my site and seen ads, please know I was totally unaware!  The ads do not show up on the host’s computer.  As a pastor, my initial fear was that certain inappropriate ads might be running along the side of the gospel proclamation.  Please understand that it was always my intention to have a clean blog, free of distractions and hindrances.  I have spent the $30 to eliminate ads and to restore my own peace of mind.

If you are a WordPress user like me, and you are unaware that ads are appearing on your page, here is a link to show you where you can pay up to have them removed: No Ads Upgrade.
